While writing is my primary vocation, I've recently reapplied myself to one of my childhood obsessions: drawing. This is just the beginning of my culture-inspired collections. Today, it's hair, robots, Packers, bleak landscapes and Day of the Dead. Future themes will include, but not be limited to, Lego, exurbia, spaceships, modernist architecture, video games, maps and technicolor vomit. Look for them in my Society6, Redbubble and Threadless shops.
As one of the inaugural figureheads for Shocase, the social network for marketing types, I give feedback on the platform and attend some of their events. I also write for them, sharing my musings on the industry with anyone who cares to read a few paragraphs.
One of my favorite aspects of parenthood is the permission to regress. I mean, if I made things like these and didn't have kids, that would be a little creepy, right? Coming soon (I hope): a children's book about a boy who can't stop swearing. My boys laughed their asses off when I read it to them, and that's all the market research I need.
And like everyone else you know, I take lots of pictures. I've got low skill but a good eye. Not the best, but better than most.
