For start-up SurePeople, whose platform gives companies new ways to improve their people’s performance, I articulated the brand fundamentals and value proposition, mapped out the website, drew diagrams on whiteboards, and wrote all sorts of materials—both internal and external. Some day, when they get bought by Google, I'll cash out my equity, retire to a private island, and bring my own self-improvement to a boozy conclusion.
